The gap

Your business can be excellent and still be hard to find.

Referrals and social posts bring good customers. What they do not do is put you in front of someone at the moment they are comparing options for a specific event.

  1. Empty dates

A venue can have a great space and still have dates that go unused, simply because the people looking that week never saw it.

  2. Scattered enquiries

Event dates, guest numbers and budgets get buried across calls, Instagram messages and WhatsApp chats.

  3. Hard to compare

When photos, capacity and pricing live in different places, a customer cannot see what makes your business the better choice.

  4. Great work, limited reach

A caterer or decorator can produce outstanding work and still be known mostly inside their existing network.

What you gain

More than a listing. A better way to win event business.

  1. Be found at the right moment

Appear where customers are actively comparing options for an event they are already planning.

  2. Look professional

Present your photos, services, pricing and business details in a structured profile rather than a feed.

  3. Receive better enquiries

An enquiry arrives with the event date, guest count and the customer's message already attached, so you can answer once and answer properly.

  4. Stay in control

You decide your services, your pricing, your availability, and whether a particular enquiry is right for your business.

  5. Build trust

A complete, reviewed profile gives a customer who has never met you a reason to choose you.

  6. Grow beyond your network

Add a customer-acquisition channel that keeps working when you are not posting.

Getting started

Start today. Build it at your pace.

Not ready to finish in one sitting? Save your progress and come back to the exact step you left.

  1. Create your vendor profile

Tell us about you or your business.

  2. Add your service

Upload photos, describe what you offer and fill in the details customers ask for. Your progress is saved as you go.

  3. Submit for review

Ukumbi checks the listing and may come back to you for better photos or missing information.

  4. Go live

Once approved, your service appears where customers browse for the kind of event you serve.

Commercial terms

Starting should feel low-risk.

Creating your profile and building a listing has no upfront sign-up charge. Where a success fee or agreed commission applies to a category, the terms are shown to you clearly before your listing goes live — never after a customer has already booked.

Why Ukumbi

You are handing us your shop window. Here is how we treat it.

  1. Built for how events work here

Tanzanian venues, Tanzanian suppliers, and the way events are actually planned and supplied locally.

  2. A reviewed marketplace

Every listing is checked before it goes live, so the businesses beside you have met the same bar.

  3. You stay in control

Your information, your availability and your decision on every enquiry. Ukumbi does not accept business on your behalf.

  4. Terms before activation

Whatever commercial arrangement applies to your category is put in front of you before your listing is live.

Questions

Before you start.

Is it free to create a listing?

Yes. Creating your vendor profile and building a listing has no upfront sign-up charge. Any commercial terms that apply to your category are shown to you before the listing goes live.

Can I decide which customers to accept?

Yes. An enquiry comes to you with the event details, and you decide whether to take it. Ukumbi never accepts a booking on your behalf.

What kinds of business can join?

Venues first — halls, gardens, hotels, conference rooms, rooftops and other event spaces — then catering and decoration, and a growing list of other event services. If your category is listed on this page, you can start now.

Can I list more than one venue or service?

Yes. One vendor account can hold several listings, and a property can have more than one bookable space.

What information do I need to get started?

Your business details, photographs of your work or your space, what you offer, and the practical details customers ask for such as capacity, location and how you price.

Can I save and continue later?

Yes. Each step is saved as you complete it, and returning takes you back to the step you stopped on rather than to the beginning.

Why does Ukumbi review listings?

So that a customer comparing options is comparing real businesses with usable information. The review checks that a listing is complete and accurate, and we may come back to you for better photos or missing details.

How long does the review take?

It depends on how complete the listing is and whether we need anything further from you. The fastest route is a listing with good photographs and the details filled in.

Do I need a registered company?

No. Individuals and informal businesses can list, provided the information you give about your service is accurate.

How will customers contact me?

Through an enquiry on your listing, which reaches you with the event date, guest count and the customer's message. You reply in the conversation thread, and your own contact details stay yours to share when you choose.

Your next event customer should be able to find you.

Build your Ukumbi presence and give customers a better way to discover what your business can do.
